The introduction of the Internet into my life opened a whole new world for me as a cross dresser, until I found the next generation of communication I felt all alone with my little secret, the fact that I am a closet cross dresser.
Before I go any further it may help for me to define some terms Cross dresserA person who like’s to dress in clothes of the opposite sex, but whose sexual preferences are that of the opposite sex. cross dressers usually only strive through there dressing to achieve a look that they find attractive on the opposite sex, for instance to see his partner dressed in sexy lingerie and heavy face make-up, the Cross dresser will try to achieve this look for himself, because he find’s it is a turn-on when his partner portrays this look, or he may do it because his partner simply will not dress up for him. 80% of cross dressers are heterosexual, whilst only about 50% of homosexual males cross dress.
This would indicate that cross dressing has little to do with gender orientation, although this is generally true it is not exclusive. TransvestiteA person who like’s to dress in clothes of the opposite sex, but whose sexual preference’s are not so rigidly defined. A Transvestite may pass himself of as a woman in order to gain the attentions of other males for sexual encounters, or who may actually feel like a woman trapped in a male body.
In other word’s a transvestite is a male who cross dressers and who has the condition that physiologist define as gender dysphoria. Transvestite’s generally are attracted to members of the same sex as themselves genetically, but feel like a woman inside, thus the need to pass themselves of as a woman.
A transsexual is a transvestite that has undergone gender reassignment and lives his life as a woman. It must be noted here that on the subject of gender orientation there are may variables that simply cannot be classified by simple terms such as cross dresser, transvestite, etc…for instance a cross dresser normally maintains a heterosexual policy to his sexual preference’s but undoubtedly will find other cross dressers sexually attracted to himself and may therefore at some point in his life indulge in sexual activities with other cross dresser or transvestite’s.
You can therefore see the distinction between cross dressing and transvestitism is not so easily defined without bringing the question of gender orientation into the equation. There are many thousands of cross dressers out there on the Internet, everyone has a story to tell, and everyone has the same thing in common, none of us really know why we cross dress, just that we get an immense pleasure from doing so.
I must admit I did not know fore a long time why I did it, but now I have a good idea, and it is this that I wish to share with you, because in doing so I hope that you can find the reason why you (or your partner) cross dress.
